Red Rock Trail Clean-up and Breakfast

The Las Vegas Aggies contribute back to our community by helping clean-up one of the trails out at the Red Rock Conservation Area! We have scheduled one of our quarterly clean-ups on August 26 and we would love to see a bunch of new faces out to help us. It really isn't hard work, just hiking along the trail and picking up some litter!

This quarter we are moving to the Red Springs Picnic Area, an oasis in the Calico Basin area, outside the Scenic Loop! Red Springs is a historic wet meadow developed with picnic pavillions and a boardwalk. Hiking is easy on the boardwalk and most of the natural area. Children are welcome and we encourage you to bring them! It is a family friendly event. All pets are to be on a leash.

When: Saturday, August 26th. We will meet at 8:00 am for a safety briefing then clean-up the area. After the clean-up, we will have breakfast under the pavillion.

Bring: All you need are long pants, hiking boots/closed toe shoes, and water. BLM provides bags, gloves, and tongs.

RSVP: If you will be joining us, contact Ginger so she may plan accordingly and pick up enough equipment. Email:

Forms: Everyone, including children, is required to fill out a Volunteer Service Agreement each year. Fill out the attached form and send it to Ranger Cal Howell (info below). Also, please read the Volunteer Job Description and the Risk Management Worksheet, it will make the Safety Meeting at the trailhead a lot quicker. Remember, if you do not fill out the volunteer form, you cannot participate.
